Atragon (1963) - American Theatrical Trailer

The Mu empire, an underwater civilization that sank to its present location a millennia ago, proclaims a battle cry to the Earth. The submerged kingdom declares war against all nations, destroying US subs and Japanese ships while causing disasters like earthquakes to befall cities. Humanity's hope falls on a single ship, one originally envisioned to win World War II. That ship, the Gotengo, was an all purpose war machine: capable of air, water and underground combat. Created by Captain Hachiro Jinguji, the man was a patriot, filled with an unbending honor toward his country. Jinguji had revolted against the surrender of Japan in World War II, and ever sense had planned to use the Gotengo as the tide turner when Japan was to remobilize. Jinguji did not see the Mu as the threat he was waiting for. He ultimately realizes their danger after they kidnap his daughter, which sends the Gotengo into action...

Monday Monsters: Daimajin The Monster of Terror (1966)

Decked out in stone gray with a scowling jade-green war face, Majin is one of the most impressive of giant Japanese monster movie threats. This 60-foot statue come to life is an irresistible force, relentlessly driving ahead with the thundering echoes of his earthshaking steps. This unusual mix of the fantasy and samurai genres is found in these three monumental adventures set in the feudal past. In the first of the trilogy, this massive statue rising up out of the mountains contains the trapped spirit of a destructive god, or so goes the legend. An ambitious chamberlain plays on the peasants' fears to overthrow the peaceful lord and enforces an iron fist on his nation, but 10 years later he sends his soldiers to destroy the stone monolith

Shockwave Darkside

This falls under the "Bad Movie, good wargame category : Shockwave Darkside: Using GZGs  Moongrunt forces or some such, would make for an enjoyable game.....
The movie it's self is a rather low tech (in computer graphics anyway) affair with mediocre acting at best. It's translation to table top play would be IMO very easily done
From the film bio:
It is the last, great war. Out of the wreckage of a troop transport, five soldiers on the way to battle find themselves stranded on the dark side of the moon. Cut off and behind enemy lines, they start a dangerous journey through snipers and minefields back to their home territory. As their numbers dwindle and nerves fray, they make an amazing discovery about the moon that just might save their lives.

RIP Kirk Douglas

RIP Kirk Douglas, a classic actor passed away at 103, two of my favorite movies were by him the first being  "Cast A Giant Shadow (1966)" : An American Army officer is recruited by Jews in Palestine to help them form an army. The surrounding Arab countries are opposed to the creation of the state of Israel. He is made commander of the Israeli forces just before the war begins. The other "The Final Countdown (1980)" It is 1980 and the USS Nimitz puts to sea off of Pearl Harbor for routine exercises. After encountering a strange storm and losing all contact with the US Pacific Fleet, nuclear war with the Soviet Union is assumed and the USS Nimitz arms herself for battle. However, after encountering Japanese Zero scout planes and finding Pearl Harbor filled with pre-World War II battleships, it is realized that the storm the Nimitz went through caused the ship to travel back in time: to December 6th, 1941.

Megaforce clip

My all time favorite high cheese movie, that anyone who has ever gamed with me has been subjected to! I saw this master piece at the army theater on FT Lewis Wa with a bunch of other GIs (non-stop laughter and thrown popcorn ). It is still a guilty pleasure!

Future War Stories: Military Sci-Fi Oddities: MEGAFORCE (1982)

State Zero - post apocalyptic short by Andrée Wallin

In the near future, the capital of Sweden has turned into a post-apocalyptic wasteland. We join four soldiers on a routine mission in ‘Zone 3’, with the assignment to investigate an old surveillance tower that just went offline. That’s the setting in first-time director Andrée Wallin’s short film, who also wrote and production designed it. Produced by Claire Fleming, the film was shot in London with an international cast, while all exteriors were shot in Stockholm.

Mecha Monday: Crash And Burn/Robot Wars

Shout Factory's double feature of "Crash and Burn" and "Robot Wars" have three elements in common: both feature robots, both are from Charles Band's Full Moon Studios, and both have been erroneously billed at sometime in their histories as sequels to Stuart Gordon's "Robot Jox."
