Thats a coincidence, I'm also retired artillery, Royal Australia Artillery, 3 years on the gun line and 2 as an FO sig.

When you go career with the US army you spend on average 2 to 3 years per unit so can go from one weapon system to another. This is not counting the extra duties such as Drill Sergeant and Recruiter that you'll also do.
